Coconut water still is a great drink to have considering when doing high intensity exercise as an example your sweating out a lot of electrolytes you need to replenish them coconut water does that for you don’t get me wrong I still use sports drinks but I think it’s important to acknowledge the positives and negatives of things

People fail to understand that Gatorade is used because its a sports drink not after you're done with sports drink It's supposed to fuel you in the middle of the sport you're playing when you're resting or need something to fuel you really quick that's why it's used by so many teams

Coconut water is basically regular water with more electrolytes. Dont get me wrong, sports drinks have their place but they r processed, low quality carbs that really arent good for recovery. Furthermore saying that sports drinks are better for recovery than coconut water is like saying regular water isnt as good for recovery as a sports drink. To follow that logic, why even drink water then? Sports drinks have their place but NATURAL drinks like water and coconut water are king. (also if u respond with anything but a logical argument and just send some random study like u usually do without any elaboration then consider yourself the loser of this debate if u choose to engage with me. Either engage respectfully with a proper logical argument or dont engage at all)

This person seems to misunderstand recovery drinks. They’re meant for rehydration, which you don’t get from glucose. Rehydration comes from drinks with high osmolarity, and if you look up the osmolarity formula online, you’ll see it’s primarily determined by sodium.

The idea that carbs are necessary in an energy drink is misguided. Consuming them just saturates your SGLT2 receptors, which actually speeds up dehydration.

These days, many people train with low-carb diets, even in a fasted state, and perform much better when avoiding high-glycemic foods.

As a recovery drink, sports drinks are definitely better, the extra electrolytes in coconut water only help with hydration in replacing fluids lost during training

but the carbs in gatorade is just processed sugar. won’t that make you crash after a bit and not recover?

And this is why Leon Edwards never drinks coconut water

Can’t coconut water with pulp give you the carbs too? I like drinking it with the pulp after workouts so I’m just curious if that’s enough carbs

Yes I do agree with you but for people the only workout two to four times a week it's better for them to drink coconut water in between workout sessions then Gatorade unless if you do some kind of sport every single day

You said mass gainers have sugar and a bunch of crap but advocate for Gatorade, make up your mind lil bro💀

It's not a substitute, but you should still get your carbs from a clean source. Drink coconut water for the electrolytes and include carbs in your post workout meal

Coconut water is definitely better. Powerade and gatorade are processed with red 50, blue 5 ans whatever bullshit. Sports drinks are so sweet as well
