It doesn't matter what show it's in, stuff just randomly exploding seems like one of those jokes that's almost always funny. Like, really think about it, there was no reason for the car to explode other than adding salt to the wound.

I would've wanted Peter to laugh that annoying laugh of his before he crashed into the tree and started screaming in pain. It would've felt so much sweeter if Peter thought that he had won only to have him injured and badly burned.
