For the Blum hinge drill jig, why not drill the two screw holes first? Then use screws to temporarily attach the jig to the part. Drill the larger hole last and remove the screws holding the jig to the part. This would require no design change to the jig. Only a change in process.

Hi, nice job! For the door hinge jig, if you first drill the screw holes, then use the screws to hold the jig, it won't wander.

You could add 'ears' on the Blum hinge drill jig so it won't move between the 35mm hole and the screw holes. Then you just release the 35mm bit from the drill and drill the screw hole before you release the clamps holding the jig to the door. Just a suggestion. I haven't tried it.

I learned this as a broad concept years ago at a ShopBot workshop, it the tool won’t make the thing, use the tool to make a jig or template to make the thing. This goes for 3d printers, CNC, and laser cutters. Probably other things as well. Great video BTW.

I guess you can also color code the different diameter drill guides or whatever guides, so that you won’t get confused which set of marks you’re using. Just print the first layer in different colors.
