Water baptism can sometimes seem like a mere physical act. But there is a real spiritual significance of baptism that is often overlooked. Bible teacher Derek Prince helps us explore this remarkable spiritual outworking of water baptism.

For those that are enduring thinking I can't handle much more so soon we will be saying I can't believe it all went so fast. We will say I can't believe I was so worried. A vapor. Caught in a vapor soon to be blown away by the next breeze. Worried for a short moment. Endured for a short while. For he suffered for us first, and don't ever forget that you're NOT ALONE!!!!

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Exactly. It is God doing the work in baptism if you are baptized by faith.

Some ppl don't get a chance to do a "water" baptism tho, and what about those who are disabled, even severely disabled, how can they get water baptised?

Ananias told Paul it would wash away his sins (Act 22:16). Peter said it was a step that was necessary for the remission of sins and that it saves us (Act 2:38; 1Pet 3:20-21). That’s why he commanded it (Act 10:48). Paul likened it to spiritual circumcision and a burial with Christ (Rom 6:4; Col 2:11-12). Under the Old Covenant circumcision was essential to be one of God’s people (Gen 17:14). One reason Paul called it circumcision because it’s of equal importance to be obedient to Jesus’ command to be baptized (Mar 16:16). Paul makes the statement that God’s people are those that have received this spiritual circumcision, which he clearly believes to be performed during water baptism (Rom 2:29).

The blood of Jesus is present in the water if it’s performed in His name. It’s a New Testament RED SEA experience which EVERYONE had to go through to get out of Egypt (1Cor 10:1-2).

Herein lies the issue I have with proponents of water baptism. They think that when the bible mentions the word baptism (i.e. the passage from Romans in the video) that it is synonymous with water. This passage in Romans makes zero mention of water. If the word baptism was synonymous with water why did John the baptist have to clarify that his baptism was with water? John would be saying I immerse with water with water - if it was synonymous.

Many religions and doctrines believe that in reference to baptism, Jesus is referring to water baptism. This explanation is not satisfactory because if Jesus is referring to the Christian baptism, how was Nicodemus supposed to understand this concept? In John 3, baptism is nowhere mentioned. In fact, nowhere in the Bible are we told to do anything or work for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, For by grace you have been saved through faith. And no this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
In John 4:2, we are told that Jesus did not baptise people. Water baptism is an outward sign of being given the gift of salvation and not a requirement for salvation.
In Luke 23:40-43, one of the criminals crucified next to Jesus says, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus replied, Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. There was no requirement for baptism here. Born of water refers to the natural birth. Amniotic water which we floated in and when our mother's water broke, we were born into this world. This is the natural birth. We must have a physical birth first, just like everyone else, and the second must be a spiritual birth, which is a work of God and that's being born again. The problem with the interpretation of religion and doctrines is that there are no references to such a thought in the Old and New Testaments. Especially with Jesus’ teaching to Nicodemus. Since Nicodemus was a teacher of the Law, there has to be something from scripture to reveal this truth from scripture. In fact, Nicodemus was confused by this statement from Jesus and asked in John 3:9, How can these things be? Jesus responds in John 3:10, saying, Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?
We must be born spiritually in the heart just as we are born physically. Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
As a baby does not contribute to the birth process, it's the same with the spiritual birth since it is a complete work of God according to Ephesians 2:8-9
