Don't forget to burn off the plastic lining and remove the toxic residue by scrubbing it with dirt or sand before using it for boiling water or cooking your food in it. Unlike the cans back in the hobo days all the new cans have plastic liners as well as all the new soda and beer cans.

For the candle lantern, you're supposed to fill it with water and freeze it so the can doesn't crush or dent when you punch the holes

Just an addendum to your list. If you are in a cold environment you can put stones next to your campfire and heat them up. Put them in the can and place it in your tent before you retire for the day and you can warm up your space safely.

Most cans are coated inside with some kind of polymer.
I'd only cook in it if i had no other choice.

For those that are really seeking slightly more relevant content on tin cans : way point survival actually has some cool renditions of things he's picked up from Ole timers.

Regarding the Survival Stove Can - you forgot to say it needs to be used FIRST to burn off the plastic lining inside the cans. Some cans do have plastic lining and when burned become toxic. Burn it off first before using it to cook with

If you buy your tin cans at Hobby Lobby, you can also pick up some decorative yarn, which you can use along with the tin-can-needle you make with your hammer and your trusty workbench in your garage. Don't forget to pickup their hot glue gun and extra glue when they're on sale, because you can use the needle and yarn for more than sewing. You can use for fishing, and the hot glue gun makes beautiful glue-lures which we are sure the fish would love to chow on at their next potluck. If you want to be that "extra" creator, you can sprinkle leftover glitter on the hot glue lures to give them that irresistable flash that all the fish love so much.

A flower pot out of a tin can? How in the hell is that a survival hack??? More like a bored housewife hack!!!

The fishing lure is actually a really good idea, I think. Using it as a cup or pot is good too. I like the signal mirror idea, it would certainly be better than nothing in a pinch
