Finally, A legendary distro! the LTS version is always more neat and important, the devs of the desktop version are to be congratulated. 👏

It's looking great. I'm really excited about the accent colors too. I don't mind the new logo. It's actually growing on me

I am using Fedora but i will try in April Ubuntu 22.04. Fedora is nice but needs more polish.

I do like the appearance accent color option...wish Fedora 36 was going to have that option.

OS Prober being disabled has been the default on other distros for a year now, Ubuntu is just catching up to everyone, if you want os prober enabled by default, use debian

If it matters to you, there's no longer a Firefox deb option available.

As far as GRUB, there really is no reason to use it anymore to boot windows with since if you use UEFI you can just change the order in your BIOS. Work smarter not harder. I get why they are doing this. For example I don't care if windows shows up in grub or not, since I press f11 at boot to choose if I don't want my default OS.

I thought 22.04 is going to use Wayland by default.

Bruh I don’t understand their logic for that new logo. I mean Firefox, Discord, fucken Pringles, all these at least make some sort of sense, to go simpler. But Ubuntu? This just makes no sense, they just added a rectangle, made their original logo look less like what it was supposed to look like (people) and didn’t even center it. What???

as a long time ubuntu user, making calculator, gnome etc a snap package does not make any sense to me and it is getting worse. that is the reason i'm now looking for faster less memory hungry and less complicated alternatives to ubuntu. also a lot of popular software is often way too old to be useful. forcing people to add a lot of alternative ppa:s, compile their own or worse, use a snap version. i understand snap with closed source commercial packages like spotify. you cannot just compile them with newest libraries etc.. and they might have unsafe and spying things in them.

For the first time I am more excited about Fedora 36 than Ubuntu 22.0 LTS

They really have the best desktop experience but I just cannot get myself to wait everytime I want to open an app because of a snap. Also the snap store is a lot of bad quality apps these days 😒
