This is a very nice performance of Badinerie, one of the best I have heard. An interesting thing with Badinerie, which I was not aware of for a long time, is that the piece is actually in Minor, B Minor, even though it sounds so happy.

Interprétation magnifique et juste de mimi stilman. Beaucoup de flutistes se permettent très souvent descamoter cette oeuvre. Elle doit rester rapide enjouée et simple.

I sometimes amuse myself by taking a song in a major key and sing it in minor instead. I never really tried to do the opposite, but I assume it must be possible. Now, Badinerie is in minor, even though it kind of sounds happy. I wonder how it would sound like if we transformed it to major, would it sound super happy?

This was one of my favorite pieces when I played with the symphony. It brings back a lot of memories. Unfortunately our local university gutted the fine arts programs & did away with the symphony for political reasons.
