President Vladimir Putin challenges the West to try and defeat Russia in one of his strongest speeches since he sent troops to Ukraine on February 24. "Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield. Well, what can you say here? Let them try," Putin tells senior lawmakers.

Not just "to the last Ukrainian, but to the last German job." London beating Frankfurt has mattered for 150 yrs. If Germany and Russia are kept divided and at each other, there can never be a winner or peaceful coexistence of a Eurasian economy. It was recognized (by Mackinder's Island theory), that the winner of the Eurasian landmass ends up running the world. This is clearly anathema to the Anglo-American Empire.
And THAT is precisely why it will never allow for the EU (Germany!) and Russia to be friends, by leveraging NATO. Prof. Mearshimer was right that NATO is America's "biatch", coz it is, via Top-Down rule: keep control of key top leaders, keep control of everybody.
