I find it interesting that the farther back in time we look the more we find first generation type formations. Ok so that's expected but the catch is that these are usually lacking large developed central black holes and are also seemingly lacking dark matter(since its yet to be proven beyond a strong hypothesis). Of course this could be a casual link but the consistency is pretty high to be just ignored. I theorize that black holes are responsible for the phenomenon of dark energy and matter due to unknown higher dimensional mechanics or macro orders of deviation not yet explored due to incompleteness of current mathematical understanding as a species. Regardless inconceivable amounts of energy and matter is contained within these things so that quite handily covers quite a bit of speculation with an obvious duh moment.

The Blind Men and the Elephant,
The first one happened to put his hand on the elephant's side. "Well, well!" he said, "now I know all about this beast. He is exactly like a wall."
