I started the game today and i'm eight hours in (didn't leave "the first port" yet). I think it's cute, refreshing and not too complicated (but there are 4 levels of difficulty). Many many side quests (that, for the most of them, you don't HAVE to do - but if you do, you'll get a lot of rewards) and a clear story with a few twists here and there. It's exactly what i expected : an RPG, with a lot of cute animals, and with the possibility to grind A LOT (hidden coins, coffers EVERYWHERE). Even from the beginning, you have access to regions that you know you will come back to (with specific places where the ennemies are level 51… and you are level 3, 4 or 5). There are a ton of things you know you will be coming back to (magical rocks, closed temples, etc. which you run in front of from the very start, and can't use yet)… All in all, i'm very satisfied because it's exactly what i thought it would be… ☺

OJ’s biggest mistake was reading through Gamespot’s review of this game. As a fighting game fan, gamespot is irrelevant

Many of the lower scores seem to think a simple and to the point RPG is a bad thing but I see nothing wrong with a classic. It's like pizza, I'd rather have a 10/10 Margherita over the "innovation" of pineapple on my pizza. After 10 hours Visions is much closer to the former.

Straight 7/10 should NOT be seen as mixed, thats a good rating, mixed should be when its in the high 60s or lower. MC is dumb for making a 74/100 a yellow.

I know we need games reviewers but as we all know someone's trash is another person's treasure. I sometimes think people want COD action in every game. I'm happy to relax and let a game and story envelope me, just my thoughts.

I’m playing it right now. It’s 9/10 at least. I got the vibe like I’m playing a Mario action RPG. I don’t like the demo, but the game actually pulled me in from the first minute. I highly doubt the journalists actually played the game, they might try the demo then put the article up.

Idk why people get bent out of shape over a 7.5/10, that's a good score. I give it an 8/10. It's good, but better games out there.

I bought it and so far I agree with an 8/10, but I am still very early. Gamespot's review is offensive. My standards are not low. It is a solid game, and so far it's an upgrade in every way over Trials of Mana.

The Game Spot critic rated it two points lower than Star Wars Outlaws. To be fair, his colleague rated that game...
Still, the claim is that the game is so mediocre that Star Wars Outlaws, a game with the most uninteresting character arc, the most brain-dead gameplay mechanics, and the most generic visuals, **edit** with a game-breaking bug that forces reviewers/early access players (who paid 110 usd) to REPLAY the game from scratch, outscores Visions of Mana? I call shenanigans.

Almost all non-mainstream jrpgs get those kinds of scores anyway. But fans will be fans and will still get to play those.. Non-fans are missing out a huge genre, we're eating good.

What I think some of the critics misunderstood is that man is a lighthearted Saturday morning game not the next metal gear.

I liked trials more combat wise but I love the vibe

After roughly 17 hrs and 4 of 9 chapters, for me, this is the new Seiken Densetsu game I was waiting for. If you liked Trials of Mana, I'm 99% sure you will enjoy this.

Something Visions of Mana did right was nail its vibe and presentation, makes it smooth to play, good customization. Its just solid as hell
