"I had no idea how empty was my soul, until it was filled"... That line alone makes this scene awe inspiring.

The best King Arthur movie ever from start to finish. This is just one inspiring scene of the many.

I love how Percival bows his head onto the throne as if merging into the background on a stage play, his part 'done', and allowing the interactions in the foreground to take precedence.

“Guards! Knights! Squires! Prepare for battle!”

*ride out in full armor with the land in bloom*

I love how the grail is empty until it reaches Arthur's lips. Genius.

And this is why Percival was his greatest One does not need to be the strongest to be the greatest.

The movie effortlessly condenses hundreds of pages of grail literature developed over a thousand years into 20 minutes of epic cinema. One or two well-constructed scenes is enough to make you feel the burden of a lifelong quest. Well done!

The preceding scene is more meaningful. Percival is stripped of his armor, and pulls himself out of the water, stating "I can't give up hope----its all I have." Wish it was posted somewhere.

I saw this in Kings the Plaza cineplex in Brooklyn back in 1981 PURELY BY ACCIDENT. It has been my absolute favorite film since, with a Jaws/Star Wars tie for 2nd. This film, unlike so many others, has aged like fine wine. To me, Nigel Terry will ALWAYS be THE King Aurthur, and I feel the same of Nicol Williamson's Merlin and the rest of the amazing cast, each perfectly befitting their roles. It's awesome to see so many commentors sharing their deep appreciation for SO MANY of the easily overlooked artistic details hidden in plain sight in this absolute ICON of pure "CINEMAGIC". These past 3 years I have seen the absolute death and decay of my once strong and beautiful country. We are truly the embodiment of "the land without a as Percival said "I have found nothing, but sorrow and death." Hopefully, we may find redemption in our own quest for "the Holy Grail", a rediscovery of what was forfeited in weakness and sin (our Constitution) and reaffirm whom and what it has always served, OUR Lord and King... Jesus Christ. Maybe then we shall be reborn to our former glory and, dare I hope, BEYOND. As Aurthur said, "It is a dream I have."

I was so young when I saw this movie, at a friend's house, on HBO. It was an incredible movie then and it still stands to this day! The entire movie is beautifully filmed. It all looks so vivid and rich, even today.

I remember watching this scene as small 5 year old child. It left a profound impression in my life til now. I went on my own grail searching and I found it 43 years later.
