I work at McDonald's at the fry station and yes it can be hard ESPECIALLY during the rush hours.

I worked at a McDonald's before and it was only me and my manager for 3 months . I did fry & grill & drivethru and my manager took in lobby orders & expo & prep .It was pure chaos every second

Although it's been 30 years, cleaning the fryers out for new oil, cleaning the grill hoods and behind the grills, and the grease trap are definitely the worst I can remember.

Just so everyone knows, at the 5:05 time mark, that flat top hamburger grill video clip is a FIVE GUYS grill. They use a steel patty press, spatulas with red handles, and divide cooking burger patties on the grill into sections according to how long they have been cooking. You can only use a burger patty press on meat that is NOT FROZEN. McDonald's has FROZEN meat, and cannot use a patty press. McDonald's (and Wendy's) use "clamshell" grills that cook both sides of the hamburger patties simultaneously; they don't use old style flat top surface hamburger grills nowadays like they did in the early 1980's and before then. If you don't believe me that the flat top grill video short clip is at FIVE GUYS, watch the YouTube video, "Untold truth about FIVE GUYS." Just want that to be clear.

I actually worked at a McDonald’s a few years ago. And it sucked. I did the janitor work and I was miserable. But the worst part of the job was the fact that I still had to work even though my shift was over. Thank sweet baby Jesus that I don’t have to work there anymore

Working at MCDONALD'S is misable. I worked at MCDONALD'S when I was young working fast food in general is misable. Teens get your first job at a Sandwhich Shop, Pizza Place, Actual Restaurant, Retail Place, or at Starbucks you will not be happy here in fact you will be quite misable here like this video states. In addition, you have angry customers that come in all the dam time and you just have to smile 😊 no matter what as a Cashier . In addition, you have to deal with huge lobby messes because some customers feel like it is just great to leave a huge mess while you clean it up and have to restock items too in the process. Idk why?? 🤔 💭 customers do this and think it is funny when you can simply have two legs you get up and throw your trash 🗑 😒 away unless of course you are a little one or a baby... I mean come on ppl think about how much double work and time you are taking up from that employee 🤔 💭 doing the lobby check ✔ to clean up your huge messes please??

Prepping is not a thing every thing comes in boxes and trays. We do have to temper every thing that is taking stuf out of the frige and feezer and get them to room temperature. Ready for consumtion.

My first job was at Jack In The Box and it was the same way there except the ice cream machine.

2) fry station 🚉 and grease
3) working the drive-thru—I worked that in 2001 through 2005.
4) the cash 💰 register—I worked this one 1️⃣
5) the grill station 🚉 —aka flipping burgers 🍔
6) drinks and ice cream 🍨
7) cleaning 🧹 the ice cream 🍨 machine.
8) stocking the freezer when deliveries come in and organize and rotate things in the shelf.
9) bussing tables and lobby duty— I didn’t like this also and women were staring at me like I was crazy.
10) prepping —-requires a lot of time and in the morning shift. Slicing the tomatoes 🍅 and onions 🧅.
11) McDonald’s host — not good for someone with major social anxiety.

You forgot about maintenance. Scrubbing and mopping floors early in the morning, emptying out the trash compactor, degreasing the drive thru lanes in the middle of a lunch rush, and washing windows with a soapy water bucket, brush and squeegee then the smudges and fingerprints will be back shortly afterwards

I worked at McDonald's before when I was young. This job really sucks...I do not wish this job on anyone.
