Love you "Real" Dr. Sam. I've heard and believe everyones BP is unique so whats high for one is ok for another. I was early 50's and as healthy as I've been since a kid weight training my whole life when out of no where had crazy symptoms of : easily exerted, out of breath after climbing a flight of stairs, dizzy after climbing a ladder, heart racing, cold sweats etc. checked in to a clinic to find my BP off the charts! Never in my life was it "out of range". Saw my "Alopathic" Dr. at the time who put me on BP meds which screwed me up! Now I was Dizzy from the meds which I got off of after 1 year and never looked back! Another Dr. turned me on to Beet Juice which naturally loweres BP and then I discovered Green Tea and Hibiscus Tea which are incredible. I drink all every morning and have been fine almost 10 years now. Dr. Eric Berg turned me on to Green and Hibiscus Tea and it is awesome as I combine both amongst other "Organic Bulk Teas" in the same brew every morning. Thank you for all you are doing in this UpsideDown world. Been following you, Kaufman, Cowan, Lanka, your husband and many more since the "PlanDemic". Virus's DONT EXIST!!! 👍

Excellent video! We are both in our 80's and feel better than ever! We are all about healthy aging. Eating a whole-food plant-based diet was the key to helping both of us reverse life-threatening illnesses. We are doing research for our new healthy-aging advice YT channel to inspire others. Learned a lot here. Thank you and keep up the great work!

I take lisinopril, I check my BP twice a day with my home BP cuff. I had it compared with a doctor office cuff, it was quite close. I average 123/70. I have a family history of stroke and heart disease but they were well into their eighties when the events occurred. I plan on living to at least 95, so I need to keep track of what my body is doing! Love your calm demeanor and cute expressions. Thank you.

You are the exact example of what a General Practitioner should be. If I lived anywhere close to you I would love to have you oversee my health. Just watching you on these videos lowers my blood pressure hahahaha! Getting ready to put my first patient to sleep for the day. My routine is a Sunday morning reading, tabulated on an Excel spreadsheet and then graphed ... your recommendation of 5 minutes of quiet before the reading is something that many people find difficult to attain. Which probably explains why they are concerned by their blood pressure in the first place.

I have a BP measuring device at home but I must confess that I haven’t used it for quite a time. Thanks doctor for the reminder. I thought the one you put on the finger could be handier which also could motivate a regular use, but just like you said it could be less accurate, so I’ll just stick to the one I have. And promise to use it regularly. I like your videos and I notice that my BP goes a little up while watching, and it’s not because your a medical person. I hope to see more videos from you. I don’t know if you already talked about Cholesterol in your other videos but I’m interested on your views about Cholesterol and the myths around it.

Have been on BP medication for many years and your explanation is the best I have ever heard so someone who does not have medical training will understand.

Hi Dr Sam,
I and my friends are very grateful for your presence here on you tube.
I'm 70 now living in a block of units for the elderly, and as you would expect don't like having to go to the GP with questions.
Your friendly delivery even on topics where you need to be wary of semantics, is very useful to people like me.
I have M.E./CFS and find I am usually better aware of my body than most GPs.
I have Reversed Circadian Rhythms which is a nuisance, so any advice on managing and disciplining wake up times would be most welcome.
Please continue to demystify medicine for us, as it is useful, and your bright radiance is a great company during the day.

It's also a good idea to take blood pressure on both the left and right sides because the substantial difference between the two sides could be a sign of a problem.

Glad I found this, I've learneded some useful information.
I was diagnosed as having Hypertension S2 (160/100 and above), last year I had a stroke, my blood pressure tablets were changed, I was on Bendroflumethozide but this was changed to Amlodipine, my blood pressure remained high so was given an additional Blood Pressure tablet of Ramipril.
I was asked by my GP to monitor my bp twice daily add it up and get my weekly averages.
A week after starting Ramipril weekly average was 166/104, the highest reading was 190/108 and the lowest was 148/90
Stopped as per request and restarted two weeks ago average 151/94 and the highest 174/106 lowest 138/90

Last weeks average was 146/91, highest 165/96 and the lowest 127/81

Great video, thanks. I bought an upper arm cuff meter in February. The results aren't always great for me, usually borderline High. I just did it about half an hour ago it was 144 over 85, so as I don't go to the doctor unless they send for me this video was very useful for assessing a medics approach to different readings. Thanks :)

What's funny is that I just bought an Omron HEM-7150 about 3 weeks ago. Just like yours, except the clock button on the left is also a Bluetooth connect button to synch with my phone and their app.

I also have to take my BP in the right arm instead of the left, since the left gives irregular readings. Thanks for the explanations and by the way, after talking to my cardiologist, my metaprolol was reduced after talking to him about your video about its side effects. Definitely an invaluable channel, thanks!
