Shipt shopping vs. food delivery

You can make good money with Shipt when customers request you as their “preferred shopper” since they were satisfied with your service last time and you can choose to accept them if they are good tippers

I felt the same way when I start doing Shipt. (Still lowkey questioning the money. Lol)

I’ve been doing Shipt for a few months. Unless the order is at least $14 and the customer tips, it’s really not that great. And tips will sometimes come a month later.

I’ve had customers add items before I even got to the store and several items once I’m in the store. out of the 266 shops I’ve had, only 3-4 payments were increased for items.

Shipt and the customers want you to go above and beyond, leisurely shop, drive far distance, be patient but also hurry up all at the same time. For what I think, isn’t enough pay. (I’ve gotten better with cherry picking).

I’ve been doing DD since 2019. I haven’t made good money on DD since. Id rather shop than delivery hot food.

I make more money and spend less on gas doing shipt.

I have more control of the quality of service I can give (I have no control over hot food given to me cold. Also have no control over out of stock items. However, the customer tends to understand “this item is now out of stock” better than “the food was sitting out when I got there/ I didn’t make the food”) Also a shipt order being passed on to another shopper is less detrimental than food orders being passed on/late during a lunch hour).

The problem with Shipt is that they may not and most likely won’t tip. I learned this quickly. The only thing I will do on Shipt is delivery only and the dollar to mile ratio has to be good. If they tip me on top of that great and if not oh well. I don’t expect to get tipped here since the customer “tips” after the fact so most likely you get nothing

My husband doesn't want me to tip but I tip every time I use ship it. I told him this is a side hustle so I should tip.

My Son did insta cart and it averaged out to be $12 per hour after gas, car insurance and wear and tare . He’s now looking for a regular job .

I've been doing shipt since summer 2019. I took precise notes on every delivery and it paid off. I learned the averages on each tipper, also who doesn't tip, tip percentages, recorded it on the map addresses. So I know how I'm gonna make out when I accept offers. I do take chances on addresses I've nvr done, some of which proved to be an awesome risk.

Ok I finally been on it for a while. The are some issues I have. 1) the customers are more demanding and stricter with their ratings(for the shop orders I accepted) 2) I feel that the drivers who have been doing it for years know all the addresses and who tips and who doesn’t and who gives 5’s and who doesn’t. This is HUGE because Shipt is very strict on ratings and it becomes a huge battle if you accept a wrong order. My advise to you is if you try to communicate with the customer and you get no response and you just get that bad feeling have support unassign it. No bonus or delivery is worth a one star. One potential good thing about Shipt is balloon orders. You can get a 3 mile for 7.00 and a tip is just icing on the cake. Best But packages are great if you are multiapping and you have a few hours to deliver them. Only do Best Buy packages if they are going to locations where you go to on food delivery. If you do a shop and deliver order try to get it done asap and then turn on other apps to see if you can get a food delivery to go with that. As long as you deliver on time is what matters

I made over $500 last week. Over 3 weeks I've done about $1200. The first 2 weeks were me not trying. Last week at $500, i just tried a little bit. This week I plan to take TRY, and on my first day actually TRYING I've made more than half of what I made all of my 1st week in not trying. I already have 4 preferred customers. I'm on track to make near $700-$1, 000 this week alone.

Switch to Shipt delivery driver . You go to a warehouse and pick up boxes and delivery them the route is set and it's easy . You can use your car .

Balloon deliveries are the best tips and easiest Shipt gigs if you live near Party City. Just make sure they bag them and then add weights to the bag so you can see when driving. Customers are always in a good mood for those. $$

At times what I’ve realized is that the tips will come in late especially if you’ve modified the order on behalf of the customer. Shipt will intentionally hold tips for days or The customer will tip later sometimes up to a week or two. Sad to say location does matter some may not think twice but it does matter

I would say that 95% of my SHIPT customers did tip. The tips came in hours to a few days after I delivered. However, because of the substitutions and add-ons for medium to large orders as most of them were, I was not making hourly what I make with food delivery.

Don't add items. Just do your order first and if you find everything just go ahead and complete your purchase. Fk that.. my time is precious and other customers don't deserve to be penalize because customer want to add items to save on the bill

I am averaging 25 an hour on Shipt. Tips come a day or two later sometimes.
