Harvesting Cinnamon from Cinnamomum Cassia Tree

In this video, we showcase the traditional method of harvesting cinnamon by peeling the bark of the Cinnamomum cassia tree. The bark removed in this process is the same cinnamon used in food and medicine. After the bark is peeled, it is dried naturally, transforming into the spice we all know and love. Unfortunately, the tree dies after the bark is harvested, making this process a one-time event per tree. Watch the fascinating process of how cinnamon goes from tree to table!

No, cinnamon trees don’t die after their bark is peeled, as long as the process is done carefully. Cinnamon is harvested by removing the outer layer of bark from branches, but this process doesn't harm the tree if only parts of it are stripped. This allows the tree to continue growing and producing new bark, which can be harvested again in the future.

However, if the entire trunk or large sections are stripped all at once, it can damage or kill the tree. Sustainable harvesting practices involve taking only part of the bark and allowing time for the tree to regenerate between harvests.

Not TRUE this is Cassia, you want CEYLON cinnamon.... it's lighter in color, fainted and sweeter, thinner, and expensive.
