Grass-fed or Organic: Which Is Healthier?

If you’re in the grocery store and they don’t have grass-fed organic, only grass-fed or organic, which should you choose? In this video, I’ll let you know.

Grass-fed vs. Organic:

Organic
• If something says its 100% organic, then it’s organic
• If something just says organic, then it’s 95.99% organic
• Organic means without pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, or biosolids (sewage sludge)

Grass-fed
• There is no legal definition of grass-fed (it needs to be grass-finished)
• Grain-fed beef is heavy in omega 6 fatty acids, grass-fed is not (omega 6 fatty acids are more inflammatory, omega 3 fatty acids are more anti-inflammatory)
• Grass-fed beef has CLA, and more vitamin A and vitamin E

Ideally, you want to consume grass-fed grass-finished 100% certified organic. I personally use a company called US Wellness Meats.

So good to know. I thought all organic was 100%. So tired of being scammed by the food industry.

So much to know as a consumer who wants to eat healthy and improve their health. Sometimes overwhelming with the way food is misleadingly labeled.

I have never seen the term "grass finished" on any product. If I did, I wouldn't have known what it meant.

Instead of all the"labels" show animals and plants the respect they deserve with proper clean organic food and water before humans consume them! ....Oh and clean proper technologies would also help the rest of our 7.5 billion and growing activities each day!

Organic can be corn feed, and I saw it on packaging. On another hand, I live in Ireland and all beef is on the pasture 24/7

A label is only as good as the integrity of those who put it on. A government label never made anyone honest.

Great video Eric! It's my understanding that organic means they have to use USDA organic pesticides, its never pesticide free??

Well I'm still waiting for the answer dr. Berg. He never said which one you should choose organic or grass-fed?

It usually costs about $10 for 1lb of ground organic buffalo (beef a little bit less) at the local grocery.  SOooo, how do us folks on a low income really eat healthy when we REALLY can't afford organic prices, much less the regular fresh/frozen vegies & meat?  Why not do some videos for us ?     Your videos have taught me a lot, thanks Dr. Berg !

Almost wish I hadn't watched this...I, too, have always wondered what the differences were. I wasn't expecting sewage sludge. THANK YOU for bringing the truth to light.

Sounds like bait and switch since "grass fed" does not mean "all grass fed and only grass fed".
