‘Logan’ is from the future!? - (Wolverine’s REAL Ending)

The Wolverine we see in Logan is from the future.

It’s a common misconception that Logan is not connected to the X-Men series, but the director himself actually confirmed it is a sequel from the happy ending we see in Days of Future Past.

This means the Logan we see is the Wolverine who experienced the apocalyptic future, went back in time to rewrite the timeline, and lived out a new future, only for mutants to almost go extinct again.

No wonder why Wolverine went into deep depression. In 6 years, Charles Xavier accidentally killed the X-Men, genetically modified food led to a generation of new mutants from being born outside of a small pocket of mutants, his adamanatium poisoning aged him dramatically possibly also from the modified food. And this is after witnessing an apocalyptic world that almost led to the death of everyone.

At least he passed away seeing a new generation of mutants, the organization responsible for almost wiping out mutants getting defeated, and his family line continuing.

That’s so sad…. So essentially to summarize. Legan was betrayed by his gf, betrayed by his brother, lost his memory which he regains later, forced to kill his love interest Jean, saw all of his friends die by mutant hunting robots, goes back in time to save the world just for your best friend professor x to end up killing all of your friends anyways….. jeez Logan’s life sounds like hell. I haven’t seen DxW yet but I hope it ends on a better note.

Whiskey is what poisoned Logan because the corn was modified.

He was always poisoned by adamantium. But the corn used in food and alcohol started to mess with his powers causing his healing factor to slow down and causing him to age, or rather his age to catch up go him.

It’s an interesting concept that even beast confirmed when they were trying to fix the past with wolverine, it’s like a river if you toss a rock in the river it can and will redirect the current, but no matter what the rivers current will eventually correct itself, meaning no matter what you do to change things whatever’s meant to happen will happen. All you end up giving yourself is time until it happens again

Funny part is though, that in Deadpool and Wolverine, Logan said he was over 200 years old, making him older than the Logan from the 2017 movie. So it probably was the food.

Imagine fighting for your kind to survive, obeying the laws of time and physics, almost dying multiple time, reliving the same trauma that still haunts your dreams, to meet your happy ending, that gets screwed over by an apocalypse you tried so hard to prevent. No wonder dude's gonna go depressed.

The reset timeline of days of future past doesn't fit with Logan because Charles said when he first met Logan he was a cage fighter, but that's not true as they met in the 60s when Logan told him and Eric off in the bar.

Yes. Wolverine is and was the main character of the XMen. He’s the beginning and the end of their storylines

It was also said by Reynolds and Jackman that it is in a completely different universe, when they announced Deadpool 3. So I’m pretty sure it’s a different universe. That’s also what Mangold said when the movie released

It's a sequel chronologically but functions more and better as a standalone that loosely uses prior films and their events as a general background. The comics featured are actually a metaphor for this. "Maybe a quarter of it happened but not like this" sums it up perfectly.

For the people arguing in the comments, he died from being impaled on a tree by a clone of himself, he had cancer from Adamantium poisoning, and he had Adamantium poisoning because of the modified food, mostly the corn in the whiskey he drinks, which is talked about when logan meets the farmers and they explain that the corn tastes horrible and that people dont eat it, they drink it.

There’s a ton of theories of why Logan was dying: From his skeleton poisoning him, to the new ingredient they used in corn syrup, to his cells that held the healing factor simply going away from excessive use of his body healing up all his wounds

DoFP was set in 2023 and he returned to 2023 a mere 6 years before Logan.

Logan is clearly on a pre-altered timeline that includes X1 as Charles mentions the Statue of Liberty in Logan
