Seth Lloyd is an incredibly rare combination of brilliant scientist and phenomenal teacher.

This is precious
It's not only about the future but also about the presence and the post of quantum computing.

I appreciate his hair but the information is distracting

Thank you for sharing this interview/talk. Seth is a great intellectual and always funny (we geeks know funny) but most important, he is very informative. Cheers.

I love this Professor, one of my favorite people on the planet. Our generations Alan Turing.

Seth Lloyd is among my favourite living scientists. The audio is awful here. You either need a much better microphone or need to gain stage the channel without so much peaking.

As a college student studying Software Engineering, I can't help but wonder how the programming languages would look in Quantum Computers and if I would need background knowledge on Quantum Mechanics to understand parts of the programming language.

Can anyone explain why quantum biology, such as photosynthesis does not need to be at extremely low temperatures to utilise quantum effects but our human developed quantum computers must be supercooled?

your excitement, enthusiasm and passion for what you are talking about is inspiring to say the least! just watching you talk about this stuff is exciting for me. Anyways props to what appears to me and my vibes, A good man and according to the other posts a good scientist! Wish everyone was like that. I know I am! ;)

Dr. Lloyd neglected to mention how the quantum decoherence problem makes scaling quantum computers to practical numbers of q-bits a monumental task. There's a real chance he has spent his career developing algorithms for a computer that is physically impossible to realize.

Learning and computing are widespread in organic entities, what effort goes into identifying them or find out their natural mode of operation?

Seth, watching your video was a hell of a lot more interesting than going out to lunch with the boys at the office and hearing about football teams. There were so many things, not the least of which was your ending note on David Deutsch who wishes to use quantum computing to explore the nature of reality. Maybe someone else can at the some time use the technology to give us some hints on the nature of consciousness.

Thanks for the company over lunch. I'm a Systems Safety Engineer and the only time I've been to MIT was to attend the Tango practice there. Check it out sometime. If you learn how to dance, the ladies won't care about your hair.

Ok ....errr so I'm blown away ...and the last minute this man talks about a man who leaves him feeling like I feel now ....I know I'm not intelligent but I didn't realise how dumb I really was a great way to spend 45 mins of your life watching someone who fills you full of enthusiasm for something you know your never even begin to understand. ...lol I don't even own a smart phone

Will quantum gaming be possible on quantum computers?

The lecture is immensely engaging, thank you, I wonder if you have lectures or talks that we could see you and perhaps have a conversation, would be great to meet you in person. Cheers 😃
