I used this knife while in the military for years. It's tougher than what you think.

Pretty neat man, I learned some stuff about the knife I didn't know. I got mine in an Army/Navy store in Brooklyn in 1968. I carried it while tooling around the city and in both neighborhoods I lived in, Bush Terminal and Bay Ridge. It went everywhere with me. Cost me $7. Into the mid 1970's I was on an "overall" clothing thing. Practical attire for NYC and the K55K fit great in the ruler leg pocket of my overalls, real handy. Left the city in '88 and still own this knife. Don't carry it much anymore and the finish is gone. Served me well over the years, got me outta some scrapes. Ideal for subway carry. Had mine over fifty years. Now I'm old (70) and a S&W 36 does my protecting. Nice video of a swell knife. My favorite lock blade, fuhgeddaboudit.

Thx for a nice review! I've used a few of this knife. I added a thumb stud for one handed opening. Found it an easy to handle,  practical, EDC. With a little care it can last a long long time. Small piece of advice to users is that since the pad on which the blade tip rests when closed is of a softer material, (so as not to blunt the tip), when one closes the knife one should do it gently (without a snap), else the blade tip cuts into the pad and gradually when the cut becomes deeper it becomes more and more difficult to open the knife. In fact I have made it a habit to close all folding knives gently (without a snap). Thanks again for the video!

Dang guys I just got this one in the mail and I’m so surprised by how BIG it feels. Like it’s all just a regular knife but it feels huge. Probably because it’s wide. I love it already!

I also have a pocket knife, it's light and slim so that it belongs in every pocket, for every day!

Good review. Agree this is one of the better classic knives. Having a lock puts it way ahead of my traditional. We keep one in the glovebox of my wife's German car (she likes all things German). And it's an integral! :)

How does it compare to the Fallkniven A1?

great belt knife for hunting. The blade shape is ideal for doing the rear end. holds an edge well. regular use it and don't worry about patina stains.

is it true that the K55K is illegal to carry in the UK?

Cedric, do you still have it? How about a rope cut test? I wear mine on my belt always when hunting. Its my backup knife and never leaves my side in the bush.

being thin light and stout is preferable to being fat, uncomfortable because of the clip.
