In this review video we review the Steinhart Military 42mm DLC watch and also the traditional Mercator pocket knife, currently made by Otter Messer. I put them together in one video for a reason, watch the review to find out... Enjoy!

excellent review Dagon!  I will be driving down to Steinhart sometime this week and getting the Military42.  I'm not sure which version yet, but either way it is a win.  Looking forward to the next Thor vote...thanks for this review to keep me occupied!

my dad carried a k55 in the late 60s in the south bronx ny. I was surprised to find a wiki page about this knife. its very flat and easy to hide. I still have it.

Very nice combination. The Steinhart is an interesting watch. And you are right - the black coated model seems to be the more attractive one.
I sold my "Katze", because I used it not as often that I should do. But Otter introduced a Mercator with a brass frame, which looks very attractive to me...
Happy Easter!

Just got a military 42 automatic in the post. I couldn't find many reviews before buying so thought I'd post something.

The watch wears big and feels bigger than 42mm due to its depth. I have a glycine combat 6 vintage at 43mm that seems smaller than this. The automatic rotor is also quite noisy. You don't necessarily hear it whole going about your business but it is noisier than my other automatics. That being said, it is a nice looking watch.

Oh! The knife watch combination is genius! Does anyone have knife recommendations to go with the Casio chrome-case calculator watch? :)

Just got one of these for my collection! Question how much should I wind it up everyday? Rotations?

I would love to see you, MrDagon007, start doing some new modern flashlight reviews. They are not your fathers flashlights!

IMO a 'military' watch should be waterproof. Actually any watch should be at least showerproof. So the automatic version which is 10ATM makes more sense.

Thank you for pointing out it's not a homage to the Zenith but both the Zenith and Steinhart are both homage to the WWI trench marriage watches.

42..too big. Beautiful but 39 would be the fair dimension.
