You may have heard that GNOME is an acronym and at one point that as certainly true but that can't be said any longer however when it was the GNU Object Model Environment it was also part of the GNU ecosystem.

I didn't know GNOME was no longer an acronym. I think I knew it was a gnu project, but its possible I had just assumed that without seeing facts.

Back then I decided never to use GNOME because in my understanding it was made to kill QT and KDE and stop me from getting my work done in a way Stallman didn't approve :D

I didn't know they were associated until I figured that the G in GNOME had to have stood for GNU, like most other GNU applications and projects.
