To be honest i enjoy watching this show not because i believe in aliens, but i'm more interested learning about the ancient civilizations they've shown here. The aliens part are just for entertainment lol

I was taught in college that it is the Reticular Formation that is the central point where sensory ambient stimulus energy is then routed to the relevant cortex areas and other parts of the brain; sort of like the brain's "cable decoder box." This has been proposed as a reason why some people have "psychic" ability, while most do not. In effect, we all receive the same raw stimulus information, but a few of us have that "extra channel" that allows them to be aware of additional information. Who knows; but did not think it is the Thalamus which serves this function. Probably associated with decoding stimuli, but not solely responsible...
