Amazon, Facebook, Google, and others all have developed your digital presence and know lots of data about you.

If you use the internet in any capacity, your personal information is scattered everywhere online. You can get a sense of this by Googling your own name — you leave small digital traces of yourself with your social media presence, online purchases, and email accounts. Whatever the case, the internet and its advertising giants know a huge amount about your life.

Today I’ll be talking about some steps you can take to remove yourself and your data from the internet.

I've always thought about doing this, but man... removing yourself from the entire internet almost makes it seem like you don't exist. But at least the tips I can do to lower the online presence. Good stuff!

Man i really feel like social media and the internet has us living life for the wrong reasons. When you strip it all away it can feel like you dont exist at all in the eyes of society. But i think working towards this goal of no social media and a limited online presence generally would force me to focus on the things in life that really matter. At the same time a lot of basic social things we do these days are on the internet. The majority of people in my generation meet through online dating apps, potential employers look for our social media to guade if they should hire us, and the list goes on. I truly believe the people designing these social media platforms are evil people who dont care about the people they are farming data from and this path we are on is leading to a dystopian future. Some say we already live in it. Maybe this is why it feels so hard to fully disconnect from it all.

I don’t know how to remove myself from the data brokers.
I have deleted all the unnecessary social media accounts, except for the ones that forgot my password on.
