I’ve just started my education in mushroom identification, and have perused several YouTube channels. But this video has been the most instructive I’ve come across. The structure you’ve outlined has opened my eyes to how best to describe what to look for is amazing. I’m a scientist and am always looking for ways of describing what I see. These tools that you’ve outlined will give me a structure for my notebooks. Thank you so very much to this video, which I will repeatedly watch and take notes on. I look forward to seeing much more of your channel. Keep up the awesome work!

It is absolutely STAGGERING that fungi were not recognized as its own kingdom until the 70s and quite humbling how little we understand about those mostly invisible lifeforms that bridge the gap between micro and macro organisms making up some of the smallest and the de facto largest organisms in the entire world.
As a biologist fungi are one of the few remaining frontiers in our field where you can literally make a new discovery every single day just by taking a walk in your local woods or examining a simple soil sample.

Great video. I don't usually learn this much from mushroom videos, but it's obvious you have a love of mycology and sharing that knowledge. Thanks.

Thank you for this video series. While aware of the basics, nobody explains mycology as clearly as you do without dumbing doe to a simpler level.👏🏻 Spores be with you!

I admire any person's ability to speak clearly, without vocal pauses, without reference to notes, to stay on topic, and to create a personal experience in the listener. This video has all this in spades. I can't help but wonder, if to some degree, this thoroughly interesting, well-paced, and easy listening piece, has been over some period of time, the result of psilocybin ingestions itself. I have read that mental clarity, confidence, and simple stage presence, can be augmented via psilocybin. If this is true, this is surely a great example of some of the associated benefits. A natural setting, an even more natural speaker, and voila, something so greatly in tune with the subject matter, that I cannot wait for Spring to apply what I have learned. Congrats!

Having foraged with elders from a kid this video was still a brand new way of looking at the features to me. Knowing where they come from makes them pop out more and helps sort the information needed for identification. Thanks!
