Warhammer: The Best Heavy Mech in Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries

preview_player
Показать описание
The Warhammer (WHM-6R) is the best & most deadly non-hero heavy mech in Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries, because it is able to engage targets from far, doing good damage, and never stop shooting when in close range, melting any enemy. This video will show you the Warhammer in action, and how to build the mech from the ground up.

Let me know in the comments below whether you use the Warhammer as well, or whether you have a better heavy mech for MW5.

the marauder is actually more narrow than most of the heavy mechs, allowing it to torso turn and spread damage across itself when hit, and by spreading the damage will actually increase its survival rate since its parts will not take as much damage.

Favorite Heavy? In general lore: Timber Wolf. In game: Orion-K replacing the AC with a Gauss Rifle, and M Lasers and LRM mix.

Got a WarHammer in salvage just after watchin this and fitted it out as described. Very nice machine.

Gotta say the Marauder has the best track record of any of my heavy mechs. I used the Warhammer for quite awhile and it frequently got the stuffing kicked out of it. Though it did always inflict a pile of damage on the enemy.

I love this mech, I can field assault mechs but I still love to fall back on my Warhammer. Dual PPCs, Dual MLas, Dual SLas linked w/Dual MGs, and an SRM 6 Stream. Practically stock with minor tweaks but it works so damn well!

This was great advice. Switched from banshee 3s to battlemaster 1g. Killing faster, leveling faster. Taking less damage. Thanks!

You made a good argument for the Warhammer 6R, which I happen to have but have not been using. I will have to try this out, as your previous video on the Kintaro was spot on. Thank you!

You have a very similar way of playing your Warhammer as I do with my marauder, smart man! Ive gotta try the Warhammer when I find one.

I was against using the Warhammer because, in my experience, the arms are blown off almost the second the battle starts, but you've convinced me to try your build with the 6R. Having said that, I still think that the Black Knight is a good choice as cooling can be managed by using double heat sinks, creative firing groups, and top tier weapons that cause less heat. Also I think that the Archer is WAY better than you suggest, because dual LRM 20s can demolish targets at extreme range. I've often played with an archer and hung back launching artillery while the assault mechs duke it out.

The Warhammers have been a staple of my company in my playthrough. Went from a mech I barely registered to one of my favs in the setting.

The Warhammer 6R got me through that Black Inferno raid mission. I had outfitted it with two ER PPCs....took mechs out like I was kicking a child, but at the cost of overheating at every shot. I loved it. I named it Thor. I will give this build a try. Love the Warhammer.

Archer is fine - very nice LRM boat that can still go to town at close range if it needs to.
Orion is basically a pocket Atlas - good if you need a pseudo-assault mech in case weight limit gets you - tough, fit for every range.

Can't argue with Warhammer, though. I currently run the PPC variant. Just removed machine guns, kept the SRM to limit ammo dependency and to max armour. It works very nicely. PPC shreds at long and medium ranges.

Jagermech can be hilarious, if I'm being honest. I normally do not like mechs that are too ammo dependent, but it can rain some hilarious amounts of firepower, if your aim is good and if you can keep it out of harms way.

Dragons are basically larger, faster centurions. Nearly the same weapon setup, similar armour value. They are basically medium mechs in a heavy bracket. BUT I admit, the speed on them is nice. Work decently well in a group if you can use their speed and keep them out of the brawling range. They are pretty decent at hunting light and medium mechs, but have trouble punching even in their own weight bracket in my opinion. It is a niche use, but hey...

The tdr-5s thunderbolt 65 tonner always did quite well.

If memory serves here is a fun build for it:
LRM 10 + 2AC2s the rest all flamers. You can snipe tanks and flyers easily, harass other mechs an REALLY burn through in melee. Also great for demolition. Comes with the benefit of VERY cheap arms!

Haven't gotten some of those mechs yet but so far I've been rocking the yegarmech. Put 4 AC-2BF and like 2 medium lasers. Not a lot of damage output with the AC-2 but it fires quick so just a constant barrage of rounds. Works pretty well so far
