Another interesting one is that Spain and Morocco actually share the shortest international land border due to a small island off Morocco's coast that is a Spanish territory, called Penon de Velez de la Gomera. The island has become connected to Morocco due to a storm a bit less than a hundred years ago that washed enough sediment between the landforms to connect them.
