The damn news knew this was problem and that’s why they would nationally ask the parents of gen X “It’s 10pm do you know where your kids are”

That “who’s Kevin McCalister” bit hurt me so much, and I’m Gen Z 😭

Never forget, the PSA's for parents of GEN X were "it's 10 o clock, do you know where your children are?"
GEN X raised themselves and they are hardcore af.

As a millennial who was protected by some of my older gen x cousins, I saw (and briefly tasted) what they went through. I got the impression of they were hurt, they got in trouble for both mentioning it or, if it was serious, NOT mentioning it. If something went wrong around them, to just handle it bc no one would help (or listen). My beloved gen x cousins were so gentle with me, perhaps because no one was with them. Even if we don't talk often now, I will forever hold a special spot for them. Just let them be and do their thing. They've beyond earned it.

lol! GenX latch key kid here. We also pimped alcohol outside gas stations, partied at under age dance clubs, put 3 kids on one bike all without helmets, and rode in the back of trucks! 😂. Good times 🎉

My dad is gen X. He once got jumped by a bunch of dudes when heading to a fight with a guy, got beaten and kicked for several moments after tasting pavement. After he called home from a payphone, he was covered in bruises, had a smashed nose and a busted lip. I don't recall if it was grandpa or ma who answered but they basically told him that if he could walk then he can take himself to the hospital and hung up. That's what gen X grew up with

My mum's Gen X - she used to manage 2 burger kings and went into one of them on her day off, with a horrible back pain for the last week and an on again/off again fever, because they were so short-staffed that day that the regional manager even needed to come in and help her. Things progressively got worse and he told her to leave and go to the e.r. She refused until she finally collapsed and he had to shut the restaurant down and drive her to the e.r. - she had been working for the last week or so with a MASSIVE kidney stone. She was also rushing one time, dropped a basket of fries too fast, and didn't even notice that the oil had splashed, until the employee whose apron she had wiped her hand on freaked out and made her look (there was skin on the apron) She had to have reconstuctive surgery, and was more pissed about the fact that she had to leave to go to the hospital than the fact that her hand was missing skin. Don't fk with Gen X.

As a Gen Xer I approve this message. The Home Alone reference had me rolling.. 😂 and yes we could grocery shop and cook for ourselves at that age. We also went to the corner store and got our elders cigarettes. Most of millennial and Gen z think we are making that up. 😂😂😂

You are one of the few but the best content creator who actually makes an accurate distinction between all of the generations! Love your content

Literally the only generation that needed to have public service announcements targeted to their parents reminding the parents to watch them and not physically/mentally abuse them. The first generation that required milk cartons have missing children photos on them.

Going to bed listening to murder podcasts and creepy pastas.
So soothing

It's like the Hulk effect with Bill Bixby 1978. We can take a lil bit, but then we'll turn into something you wish you never met.

that somewhat sadistic giggle at the end... as a fellow GenXer, I ALSO have that somewhat sadistic giggle as my default laugh.. it's unconscious

Facts. Gen X here, and I was a latchkey kid as well. It didn't seem out of the ordinary because almost all of my classmates were also latchkey kids. We're the generation of FAFO; we may be older now, but the FAFO game is still strong when someone comes for us.

Lol, Millennials know because many of the older ones tagged along with Gen Xers. They've SEEN things! 😲🤭

Yep, I am Gen X and I was a latch key kid in the age of serial killers, kid nappers, poison dealing ice cream trucks and the "Don't walk on the same side of the street as that house! "I lived in the good neighborhood! Leave me alone, let me have a drink and my TV shows. I'mma cook ME sumthin to eat right quick and call it a night. (All typos are correct... read it just like that)

1977- Proud Gen X, and we are ninjas. We do our best work without being detected. The goal-never get caught. You don’t speak about it, there’s no evidence left behind, and snitches got stitches. We were left to train ourselves- Are you bleeding, is someone dead No then your fine. We paid attention and have acted accordingly. 65-80- almost all of what pop culture is today, well, you’re welcome for that.

This made me growl with laughter.
