hey, i’m a figure skater and i recently developed a callus on the ball of my foot. It hurts to do some of my jumps and if i stand too long then it starts hurting a lot. Do you know a way to stop the pain?

The second worst cut I’ve ever had involved one of those disposable razors. To give you an idea of how bad it actually was, the worst cut I ever had involved a hedge trimmer.

Just here to emphasize the "do not use razors to exfoliate." I learned that when I was cutting a foot callus and it slipped and cut a toe artery/vein. It took like 20 minutes and almost the entire bottle of hydrogen peroxide to get the bleeding to stop, and then it kept bleeding through bandages for the next day or so.

Sooo… I tried doing this with soap one night in 8th grade. I was in the bath and thought that I could shave a bit of the dead skin off. I took out a big chunk of my toe and I was screaming- blood everywhere. My mom had to tape an antiseptic stick to my toe!! 100% don’t do this and listen to Dana!!

Can I ask you something? As a pediatrist, how many of your patients visit you because they have hurt themselves trying to treat some sort of everyday annoyance themselves?
