On the request to remove PTI leader Shehbaz Gul's name from ECL, Lahore High Court has sought response from other parties including the federal government.

Justice Jawad Hassan of Lahore High Court heard the petition of Shehbaz Gul, the petition challenged the move to include Shahbaz Gul's name in the ECL, the federal government and the Ministry of Interior were made parties in the petition.

It was argued in the petition that Shahbaz Gul is being targeted for retaliation. The name was added to the ECL on political grounds. Shahbaz Gul, through his lawyer, requested that his name be ordered removed from the ECL. The court sought the response from the other parties including the federal government on February 15.
