This is what melee is supposed to be, rewarding you for actually getting close and taking risks instead of, well mage without mana

you have to get close to actually deal that 1000 dps.
I like that, melee should do more damage when you are closer instead of firing projectiles all the time

every time i play melee in calamity i always use this weapon for wof, even on revengeance it absolutely MELTS the boss since the knockback keeps all the hungry at bay (plus they're really easy to get the parry off on for free) and you can just sit next to the bottom eye and wail on it

You can just nuke the wall of flesh with this thing and it's even useful for destroyer and (when spinning or getting close to an arm you want out of the picture) skeletron prime.
