This is something that you need to know when changing your alternator!

I'd be your camera woman and you could teach me about cars! Lastly, I'm changing my alternator today on my 2006 Toyota so this helps so much. That must be the reason why the belt on mine squeals on startup, because both bolts are tight, but the belt is still kinda lose. Previous owner fault though..

What year 4runner is that ? My 95 3vze does not have that fancy tension fastener. I just have 2 bolts, and have to be contortionist & use 3 hands to pry-bar the alternator while tight bolt down.

And dipsticks in FRONT ? Mine are in back of alternator.

I'm having a issue with the Alternator belt. I bought a new one from the dealer and it seems to be too large. I've slid the alternator out as far as it will go and the belt is still too large. Have you had that issue? 1998 Toyota 4 runner.
