2024 Nissan Ariya Platinum+ AWD Review and Tour /// The PERFECT Leaf Replacement?

Nissan is reinventing themselves with a new logo and a massive new overhaul for the new decade. Finally I was able to spend a week in the Leaf replacement, the Ariya. As tested at $56,940, this Ariya Platinum + AWD was fully loaded. And? While it could be more competitive powertrain and charging wise, this is the best Nissan interior EVER, and the design is slick too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Highs:
+Interior design, build quality, tech features, are truly top notch. It could be an Infiniti in there.
+Ariya fixes every Leaf flaw: CCS charging, decent range, lots of interior space, FWD or AWD options, wide price range.
+While not sporty, the Ariya offers a quiet and well damped ride. Oh it can drive itself too with Propilot 2.0.

Lows:
-While the interior is impressive, the door armrest ergonomics need to be rethought.
-Charging speeds are OK, though could be quicker.
-Lacks any driving engagement/dynamics.
-e-Step is straight up odd. Need a one-pedal drive mode asap.

7.5/10 Seriously consider one with the recent dealer incentives. Best new Japanese EV I’ve experienced yet.

I appreciate these good reviews which Ariya deserves. I have a platinum edition purchased in May 2023. It is a great vehicle. I recently moved to San Diego from North NJ and I drove this cross country in four days. I didn't feel any tiredness or soreness as Ariya is pretty comfortable. The EV mostly drove by itself with the Propilot Assist 2 turned on for 80% of the trip.

Too expensive to be a leaf replacement imo i dont think someone who was driving a $30k leaf will be looking at $60k vehicles
