Attendance check in! 👇🏽 Hows everyone doing!? And who's ready to crush it in 2024!?
Btw, vertical 1920x1080P is fine for social media. 20, 000 to 30, 000 kbs is what I've found works best. 🙏🏼

Amazing intro Jamie! Al the goods for 2024 🙂

My experience with the Restrict To selection is that it will set the upper limit, but will not force the render to the specified bitrate.
For example, setting it to 10, 000 Kbps could result in a render at 8, 000 kbps, but will never go above 10K.
I've found you get nearly the exact same output bitrate using Automatic set to Best.
My internet is expensive, so I've tested various bitrates for upload to see if there is a significant difference, given that most are watching on smaller size and rez screens, plus the extra compression YT does in the processing.

Yo, just jumped on the Davinci train and binged through your vids! Huge shoutout for making killer content, and that motion blur plugin? Mind-blowingly awesome, thanks a bunch!

Use AV1 encoding if you have it available (Certain gpus). It's better than h.265 and much faster.

can you explain how did you do the intro please ?

Nice video. The standard for video audio settings is 48K 16 bit. Higher than that is a waste if the audio is attached to a video file. h.265 requires a Windows user to buy the codec. It does not come with Windows by default as it does on the Mac. Additionally, Youtube does not use h.265. So when you upload in 265, Youtube has to transcode it to 264. If you upload it as 264 Youtube's processing step is faster since it does not have to convert the video. Finally, bitrate is impacted more by resolution than framerate.

also are these options for exporting all in the free version?

Just a small tip: If you don't want to take the time to do it in Deliver and you know roughly how long your video's gonna be, you can set your delivery range in the Edit page by pressing I and O, just as you would in the Deliver page.
Thanks for the tutorial! I heard about the trick to double your framerate and set that as your bitrate a while ago, but my videos never seem to be the highest quality if I'm doing some more intense color grades on my PC's screen recordings. Could this be due to some setting on my computer, or is it DaVinci?

How do you select which YouTube channel to send to? Great Video👍

I think that Resolve in most cases uses the original media for scale and will give you the maximum resolution. I think that it's not good practice to work in 1080p and then change the size on the delivery tab though. I have seen what appears to be upscaling when that's the case. Again, I think the manual disagrees with this, but I've seen it in testing. So I always upscale either in the timeline settings or in the project settings for the timeline.
Might just be an old habit, but doesn't hurt to be sure.
And I see people claiming that some settings are overkill. I know quite a few pros that will just make a high quality master and upload it, not worrying about the time it takes - youTube and most services will make a copy of your file and do what they do. When you read recommendations by youTube - they never mention "Quality". "Best results" could be considering time and bandwidth for them. All theses years and I still haven't seen the word Quality from them.

Hey thanks for the quick and easy guide! Everything works great but I've noticed my phone (Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) cannot play the video files. I downloaded the VLC app which at least opens them (stock video app does nothing) but even in VLC playback is a mess. It stutters, picture disappears, audio cuts, etc. Any idea why or what I could tweak in the export settings to fix this? If it matters I'm filming with a DJI Air 3 drone with 4K 30 FPS, D-Log M, and H.265.

Dont you want a low bitrate/high compression for social so it doesnt get compressed by them?

Great Video! I have a question to the "fps/=bits" fact. How did you find that out? Any technical base? Greatings from germany!

Hey! Thank you for the video. 🙏🏼
In my experience you have to switch to 4k timeline for 4k export. The quality is better.
Also exporting to HD from 4k timeline is a bit better. 🙏🏼

My davinci resolve will only render certain audio channels and not others? I don’t understand why… when I play it just in the edit tab all audio works fine but once rendered into a clip only certain channels play
