Sigewinne saying "I like playing dumb. I like the feeling of being trusted" was a creepy line.

using mamere as a thumbnail is so funny to me cuz she's just a cute little melusine who makes cute little paintings with her father's blood 😃

Adelinde isn’t actually a cannibal. She was doing her best to cover up all the stuff Diluc is doing, and the other maids started to think she was a cannibal, so she just started to roll with it to keep attention off of what Diluc is doing.

For me, the most shocking point about Genshin's dark lore was arriving at Khaenriah's gate and receiving the message taken from Dante's Divine Comedy. "Abandon all hope."

Tsurumi Island's lore is even more dark than you thought... in the Thundering Fury artifact set, the descriptions tell about the events of Tsurumi Island. iirc, in the original Chinese, it is stated that Ruu was *skinned alive* and the *blood from his bonemarrow* was collected into the goblet, as well as his sacrifice being performed by his father. It is horrifying.

One of my most disturbing experiences was when i discovered that if you try to interact with a statue of the seven in other person's world you get a very ominous "Leave." message, but the one that warns you that is your own traveler, as if THEY

Just, hilichurls, man. They were once human, and we spent three regions slaughtering them. In Sumeru, it felt like there weren’t as many quests or commissions for the Traveler to kill them, almost like they are no longer comfortable killing them. Plus, you can occasionally find dead hilichurls in Sumeru, and it’s sad and unsettling.

The underground hospital in thr Sumeru desert was the turning point for me, since then its impossible to ignore the horrors in Genshin, i keep remembering that messages on the walls, the last one in particular hit my brain. Dottore is the whole horror genre combined if someone were to make a game based on his story and actions it would be Outlast levels of messed up.

All fun and games until we spoke about Khaenri'ah and Caribert 💀

I remember how big cannibal Adelinde theory was back in the early game times. The funniest thing is that it's all one big misunderstanding. Adelinde, as well as Elzer, are part of Diluc's secret organization that is hunting down Fatui agents, and the manor is their base. They seem to often invite certain Fatuus just to kill them. The part about Adelinde giving us meat is just her acknowledging rumours and having fun (oh, she's so silly for that).

Old Vanarana is always so eerie. Also knowing the difference after spending time in the New Vanarana. Comparing all the abandoned and ruined Aranara houses is like walking through a ghost town. The disaster that took place there becomes almost palpable.

honestly I think the concept of the abyss is by far the scariest thing in genshin, it gets straight into cosmic horror, a thing that we just cannot comprehend

The saddest part about Ruu's quest is that he was the only person willing to actually TALK to the thunderbird and thus befriended her. And the villagers exploited that because what else would make their "god" happier than the heart of her only friend :(

Another thing about Elynas is that it's very heavily implied that, like Durin in Dragonspine, he was one of Rhinedottir's creations. And just like Durin, he had a bubbly innocent personality and was, at first, completely ignorant of the havoc he was causing. He doesn't hold any resentment for being killed, because he managed to realize what was happening eventually, and believes that it's a good thing that he was stopped in the end, and he dreams of walking the world without causing harm one day.

To be fair, Adelinde was probably just trolling you with the steaks, since she's canonically capable of gently trolling even Kaeya until he agrees to stay for dinner. In reality, the missing "guest" was probably either a member/asset of the secret information network that Diluc belongs to who subsequently snuck out, or a villain who Diluc killed and subsequently disposed of with Adelinde's help (in a probably non-cannibalistic sort of way).

That said, Liloupar's story involves

SPOILER

her causing a civil war so brutal that it decended into mass cannibalism, before she arranged for most of the surviving populace to die as a good chunk of the nation fell into the Abyss.

the sumeru hospital scared me so bad that i never went back there LOL. a semi related scary area is the hills near port ormos, where you can find ruin guard parts scattered everywhere and a series of research notes. the notes tell a story about a researcher (presumably the same doctor from the hospital) going too far experimenting with the ruin guards and accidentally causing one to brutally maim a fellow researcher. the details are.. gruesome.

I'm surprised you didn't mention The Sun Children when you bring up Enkanomiya

I headcanon the Melusines took twenty years before coming to Fontaine because they were a little feral at first ( I mean come on, they think the sun is black and decapitated fish heads are “singing” happily) and Neuvillette had to temper their more wild nature before they could integrate with humans. They were born from an abyssal being after all. I’m also writing a fanfic that delves into that idea. 😊

One thing that scares me is the fact that we don't know anything about Lumine and Aether. Several times I ask myself "who are they really?" because we don't know where they come from, their history, how strong they could be, etc. And the only people who know their real names are Dainslef, Paimon and of course the abyss sibling:the other characters, including the archons, call them Traveler or by the name we choose at the beginning of our journey, they have never called them by their real name. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks it's creepy but I really want to find out what the twins are hiding
Sorry for my bad english😅
