What if it is not the thermostat, what could it be then?

Honda ridgeline…..temperature normally goes up to normal operating temp even at idle….but today I drove at about 40 mph for about 40 mins. The gauge rose but barely above cold. (1/4 of the way). I’ll have to check it out

Hi sir, my case is that, in the summer my engine temperature stays on normal the needle stay at the middle line on the guage. Doesn’t move or anything when i drive. But in the winter, when i let it warm up for 20-30 mins, the needle hoes up to 1/4 before center line (middle normal operating temp) but when i start driving it goes down back to cold.. and after driving for 30mins. My hoses are still cold. Top amd bottom hose. But in the summer it goes to normal operating temp. What do you think? 1999 bmw 328i

My 2.5 liter 4 cylinder natural aspirated engine takes about 15 min to warm up if idle, I mean the time it takes for the rpm to go down to normal idle below 1000, and I'm starting it at about 21 degrees C. Is that too long? 2012 Ford fusion SE, 47k miles on it-- I know, that's such a low mileage 😊

I have a Honda Crv 2001, I've replaced the coolant fan relay and the AC relay, plus the fan switch, thermostat, both coolant and temperature censor.
The temperature gauge on the dash shows its over heating, but it's not, The coolant temperature in the radiator is around 149 to 152 degrees.
The motor runs amazingly, it's not over heating.
What would cause, the gauge to read over heating, when it's not?
The minute I start the car, the temperature gauge moves to the middle of the garage, where it should be after it warms up.

Hi, I got a 2nd hand Hyundai Elantra 2012, and Im thinking it has a stuck open thermostat because it took a very long time to heat up the engine. Usually 30 to 45mins until the shaking is gone everytime I rev to 2 to 4k rpm. Just yesterday I found out that the thermostat was removed, so we replaced it with a new one. But today I went for a test drive and it is still the same 😒 also the auxiliary fan is working fine. not spinning when it is below 90°C. I hope you have some advice.

hes half right, if your radiator has water, change it to premix, also i repaired my radio it would go on and off, now car takes only a few moments to warm up

I replaced the thermostat with OEM 3.3 vg frontier replaced the ECT 4 times no codes but is the water temp sensor bad feeding false info the pcm once it heats up it runs great what about the oil, I changed it to a heavier weight when I came back from a long trip it sends a missfire code on # 3 cyl then once warm it goes away I'm stumped tried everything even new distributor

I have a 96 Chevy blazer 100k miles and it’s running really cold after new radiator install. I have replaced the thermostat, coolant temp sensor and engine block coolant sensor and still runs cold. The highest temp it reaches is approximately 130-160 degrees and also makes my heater not work. It’s currently cold in Arizona so heat would be nice any thoughts?
