If you have any expired glucagons consider giving it to your pharmacy!! they sometimes use them to train people 😁

This is actually really useful! I’m not diabetic, but I know some people who are, and I have been concerned about what happens if it gets too low. Knowing that not only is there a way to help that person but also have the knowledge and the ability to in times of crisis is really helpful, thank you. ❤️

edit: I love all of the diabetic people in my replies clarifying and adding information! y’all are great, thanks!

My son was diagnosed 6 years ago. He is 18 now. Everytime we have an expired Glucagon we always practice. Love the new nasal spray so much more then the old shots.

This is my first time hearing of this because usually they just give me the needle with this powder in the insulin bottle 🙂

This is very useful, I work at a place with a diabetic kid that gets low sometimes so it's good to know in case I'm ever the one that has to use their glucagon

Thanks for sharing this as it helps people who aren't familiar with diabetic crises to know how to help!

I've also been diabetic for 15 years. I have not only not used glucagon, I have had any available in 14 years. The last one I had was a syringe full of liquid and a vial of powder. The user would need to stick the syringe in the vial, inject the fluid and draw the mixture back into the syringe. then jab the syringe into my leg and push the plunger in. This seems far more practical.

My husband uses these and we used it one time and it kept his blood sugar levels steady all night. Like in the 120 (6.6) range ALL night long. It was the most magical thing ever, these are amazing.

I would keep it. Expired meds like this still work. I love how much stuff they have now available for diabetics. Things have really progressed. Just wish they would get that cure!!!

Fellow Type 1. Im so happy they started giving out the nasal spray instead of the glucagon cause the spray is so much easier. I try and teach ppl im around most often how to use it just in case. My lows give me a lot of anxiety

Helpful. My (now adult) son had the version for years, and when he switched to the nasal version, all I could think was - THIS HAS TO BE EASIER - so I never looked.

Thanks for sharing!

Looks better than the toothpaste tube of glucose my mom talks about having for a preschooler back in the 90's. My poor mother lived in fear of having to force feed that child a tube of glucose.

Gosh, i remembered my first time with Baqsimi! 😫😩😩😩 that solidified my goal NEVER EVER going to allow myself to go low again! The powder to the nose was like a death sentence to me... i saw million stars when the powder reached my inner nostrils... it took 3 days before my postBaqsimi Migraine went away... so i still keep my Baqsimi inhalers at my side to remind me of that time

Hi I'm also not diabetic but after weight loss surgery I had an extremely rare complication that caused hypoglycemia! I went into what would be considered a diabetic coma and got D50 (liquid sugar in my muscle) I then got an additional 11 (!) D50's and after a week in ICU and a neck port. I was fine. 🥴
