We just finished the last few odds and ends on the salvage auction Vette build and now it's time to put it to the test! Today we're taking it for it's first drive and hitting the dyno to put this surprise Steve Morris 427 to the test!

Will it hold up to the 4 digit horsepower? Or will it end up in pieces... We certainly have the hardware with twin Garrett G40-1050, the question is, can the engine handle it!

This episode we get the chassis is proper shape to install our new (used) engine, and build ourselves a complete Turbo kit!

Check out the whole ScrapLife Family!

Have a wild Vette build story of your own? Maybe you've bought a totaled Z06 or ZR1 to turn into your dream car? Be sure to tell the story in the comments!

I used to work with Tim back in the day. Best mechanic I ever met, he taught me a lot. Better not let him go!!!

The one thing I love about your channel is everyone seems very humble and I respect that. A lot of times people don't show their mistakes it things they need to redo. It's always so fun to be a part of everything you guys do in your shop.

Wow, Dalt has mad glass skills. Who knew? Lots of good stuff in this video. It’s a must watch. As much as Tim helps out around the shop you guys ought to help him put together something solid. He needs a “shop” car.

install the wastegate in your 45 degree bend so exhaust go directly to it and not a 90 bend in a straight line

It's literally my favorite car channel on youtube!

I can almost guarantee that hood isn't going to stay on, I'd highly recommend dzus rails for both sides and the leading edge. Kwik latches don't have much support and have been known to not hold down hoods

Your delivery is so good that I even enjoy watching your paid ads. Good job. You’re a natural.

The real problem isn't the recirc, or the gate size, it's the way you have them plumbed. You've got them on the outside of the bend which is good, but the 90 degree angle for the feed means most of the exhaust on that large of an engine is passing right by. The gates need flow priority, even something like a 45 degree angle would probably fix this.

Man HUGE shout out to your team!! Without them these builds wouldn’t be possible!! And not going to lie this might be best looking build you’ve done so far💯🤘🏾🔥

Honestly looks way better without that hood, conditions permitting ride without it and you see out the window better

Its very rare that I watch a full 30+ min video, but when I do it’s usually on this channel. Thanks.

Awesome accomplishments, I can't wait to see more progress. Looking forward to seeing the color matched hood as well as the build is so clean. Outstanding, Max.

If you reposition the watergate pipes more in line with the inlet of the bend to favour flow it will help your boost control issue.

Flow of exhaust works like most fluid physics, the exhaust is flowing straight past that gate because its at that 90. Food for thought

That wastegate location is not giving the wastegate priority, you need the outlet of the turbo pointed at the inlet of the wastegate not at the 90 degree angle you have it at. Just move it further down the outside of that bend.

Not sure if you tried to contact Steve or not but I’m sure he could give you some ideas on waste gate size and everything. He usually has the motor very well figured out before it leaves his shop.

I would recommend if your super worried about using a pressure based boost solenoid to run boost control of your wastegates and even the BOV switch to something like the Turbosmart Gen V eWastegate that they offer.
