Are you thinking about jumping into new book genres? Maybe historical fiction is on your radar, but you don't know where to start. In this video -- A Beginner’s Guide to Historical Fiction | Books for Those Who Don’t Like Historical Fiction -- I offer historical fiction book recommendations that are fun and easy to read and that will help you find a new appreciation for the historical fiction genre, if you're not really a historical fiction fan. I hope you enjoy :)

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
In 2024 I am attempting to accomplish something I never thought possible, even though I have always considered myself a lifelong reader: read a hundred books a year.

Yes, you read that right, in 2024 I'm attempting to read 100 books a year.

By attempting this, I am openly defying an argument I have often made on my channel--that one cannot read 100 books a year if one is busy with life, work, kids, school, socializing, etc.

But I did a little research, and I discovered a few tips and tricks to reading 100 books a year, and I'm going to use those tips and tricks over the course of 2024 to attempt what I formerly thought impossible.

Don't forget to subscribe to this channel to see if I can do it!!👇👇👇👇👇

And don't worry, I’ll only occasionally vlog about reading 100 books a year.

This channel will still include book reviews, book recommendations, lists on the best books available in historical fiction, literary fiction, literary nonfiction, and more.

Because, at its core, this channel is about GREAT STORIES.

STORIES YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO READ!

I agree with you about Kristen Hannah. The Nightengale is so different from her other books. I wish she would write more like it. The Women is ok but was still a bit of a let down for me.

Thank you so much for these recommendations. I just recently picked up Beneath A Scarlet Sky in a library sale! Another WW2 I read that was set in Italy was From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon. Ken Follet books intimidate me so thank you for suggesting some to start with.

The Nightingale is the only K Hannah book I have liked. Great recommendations!

Omg. I also struggle to like Kristin Hannah’s books. They are always so “doom and gloom”. I did not care for the Women however I have not read the Nightingale so thanks. I also screenshot a few others here to try. Thanks. Great video.

Ken Follett’s earlier work is quite good, but VERY different from these trilogies he has been cranking out. Two recommendations.. On Wings of Eagles is a nonfiction story of two American businessmen who were caught up in the Iranian Revolution and their escape from a prison in Tehran. And The Key to Rebecca which takes place during WW2. Both are real page turners.

Thank you. I would love it if you could do a video on historical fiction books not set during wars?
