That's a woman who knew what she wanted and went for it

she was already into him. playing with her hair, getting in and leaning in close, her tone. she wanted a hit of that, and after he spoke, she wanted the whole thing lol

'Your cool balances out his fool' is something I'm going to have to use now

Is it just me or did the poem fly over some people’s heads? He was basically saying fat boys always get forgotten, and her literal answer was “How can someone as fine as you ever be forgotten?” 😭😭😭😭

You know I’m convinced that these two never learned each other’s names.

What I like is that she already had a liking to him. The way she sat next to him, twirled her hair, spoke to him very directly...she already thought he was cute, she just wanted to talk to him.
So, completely unironically, "its big boy season y'all, go get one."

gotta say after all PJ had to put up with from his dad over the years, he's earned this

Love how Goofy just spins him around to make him look even better and then just dabs away without saying a word.

Max has Roxanne, PJ has Beret Gurl, and Bobby…Bobby has cheese

The symbolism of the coin is not talked about often enough.

She highlights the coin with the light and flicks it into the audience just like her words and PJ is the only one to catch it. Everyone else liked her poem but PJ Understood it. Then later while everyone else gives her compliments for getting rid of the bullies PJ just throws the coin up again and puts it back in his pocket. He understood the value of words, knew when to speak and when to remain silent, probably because of his tyrant of a dad.

She saw it all and immediately knew that this is her guy. Brilliant writing.

I love how she’s one of the only characters who refuses to wear gloves like everyone else.

0:34 I do like how she just become a part of their group so effortlessly, not just PJ.

I CANNOT believe she is unnamed in the movie, she is an *icon*
I've just been calling her Mochaccino this whole time.

I still can't believe even in the credits she's listed as Beret girl, so incredibly sad.

How did I forget that PJ had the same voice as Carl from Jimmy Newtron

Shoutout to all the big boys who got inspired by this scene as children.

1:47 that silent look between Max & Bobby is animated so perfectly. You can see all the history of friendship and brotherhood and banter between them in just those few frames, how they're besties but they get annoyed with each other all the damn time because they know each other too well.

I love how she calls him Budha boy. I think it's so cute

The way her mouth crackles when she says "tart and tangy" is absolutely everything, it's such a subtle detail that (thanks to the voice actor) not only adds to the feeling of the scene, it also adds to her character. There's no doubt she had practiced that multiple times to get that realness and magnetism that captured the audience. (I mean seriously, just try it, it's freaking hard)

Not to mention the intonation and pacing of everything stressing her imagery to make it more palatable. Absolutely gobsmacked with how much effort it must have taken to get that take, just spectacular 👌

That is to say, I really love that scene
