I am the only one still getting melee lunged from what seems like too far, but then I whiff on very close range melee lunges?

I still phase through and lose complete track of Especially in last spartan standing with the melee challenges😒

Thank god they changed this. I appreciated the change sometimes, when I was clearly the one who was ahead, but it would often come down to such a ridiculous technicality like if a fight had started when I was at a lower health to begin with, so melees would instantly spell death with no chance for getting off a trade. Which got INCREDIBLY frustrating especially in ranked modes when the best you can manage is a trade to stall the enemy scoring a point.

Okay i really don't like that they removed the melee trade system.

I think it was perfectly fine for the person who did more damage to get the kill even if they would have died otherwise and trading when the people are relatively the same health.

The issue was that it wouldn't indicate to you that the other person was one health because there would be no shield static.

Getting punched back half a second after I melee-kill someone feels off. Like his ghost punched me from the grave.

Honestly feel like there was too much melee trading as it was. In classic Halo games it still happened but the window for a trade was much smaller so usually if you were quick you could get the melee off and win the engagement. The window seems much larger now so oftentimes there will be a trade even when you or the enemy clearly hit the other first.

I'm still getting rocked by people with energy swords, even if I melee them with thier shields down before they hit me.

"What the heck, I hit him! I heard my fist go inside his skull and he didn't freaking diiiieeee!" Is something I say a lot now

Now we just push for separate attacks for the melee and reg hit of the grav hammer and energy sword. In reach the sword melee was faster and didn't have the lunge property compared to the regular swing that used ammo. Same for the gravity hammer, it's melee attack was a small headbop that could still parry sword attacks when the large slow overhand swing could not.

Thats the other thing, they need to bring back parrying energy swords, no matter the weapon (or maybe even just the bladed weapons), you could parry an enemy energy sword. Yes you'd take more damage compared to them (you wouldn't win a clash fight) but it'd give you a chance instead of just dying immediately.

I played last night and it felt worse than before. The second person to melee still always wins, no matter their health, because they're punching through the face and hitting the back of the head.

Now they just need to make a 'Tie' mode for LSS, where if the last kill results in both people dying at the same time from the Melee instead of favoring ... idk someone random and then going into "Overtime" where you both get another chance.
E.g I hit first but the guy I hit was rewarded the win because he also Meleed me and I died at the same time

You can also kill trade energy sword vs melee now, it’s happened to me once in BTB, it’s not as easy now but you can finally melee energy swords like in past Halo titles

Why campaign, melee feels barely powerful enough half the time unless I do the grapple power shot thing, this just makes it worse.

Why would they have ever done this? Its soo unbelievable. I mean Award the player with higher HP to survive, when previous games were so hardcore about knowing exactly how much damage you do with every single Weapon and melee? So happy they changed that. not happy about the 10% reduction though, I keep misjudging damage now in CQC.

I think they should, but I also think meleeing in this game and some of the past halos are to magnetic to the enemy. I just think you should need to be a bit more precise in your aim and the lunge distance should definitely be reduced
