It's pure life and light. It's the Earth and the soil. It's the water it takes in and the CO2 we breather and then we are the air we breathe from it so then we too are part of the "tree" and what creates the transference of energy from one "thing" to another.

Hey thanks, the first time I realised clearly I was practicing and contemplating a tree, and saw my mind going ‘what type of tree, how old, how tall, etc’ and then I saw it and was like ‘ohhhh’ it’s not any of those things, it can’t be - when I go home, it’s still there as is everything. It is, how lovely to learn that that, or unlearn the illusion. 🙏

I feel the roots reaching deep into the ground where I stand, I feel the branches of my mind reaching open to the sky, trunk becomes branch becomes twig becomes leaf, open to the weather I feel my roots run deep, who would have thought such a lesson in a tree, as if we were the same in ways I did not see.

We have these consistent categories for a reason. Yes, I understand what you're saying, but it doesn't mean it's an either or. It is a tree, but it's not fully separable from everything else. The one and the many are not in conflict.
