ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

I love how this episode is called "Chidi Sees The Time-Knife, " even though this scene is just a few minutes long

I love how this show just waves off concepts like The Time Knife and stuff, casually, because it just makes the non-human characters seem so much more cosmic in scale, but also funny.

Fun fact! The cup that Jason is holding? It was originally a cup of beer. In a deleted scene, Shawn is unhappy that the humans get to discuss in an environment that makes the comfortable, an actual IHOP, so he changes it to a place that he’s comfortable in, a baseball stadium’s bathroom. That’s where Jason gets the cup and why he still has it. It was retouched to look like water in postproduction. Also fun fact, in the baseball stadium shift, Tahani’s scarf turned into a very drunk patron who would not stop hugging her.

It’s fun rewatching this after seeing the finale and everything. You can see Shawn’s small delight on his face when he realizes Michael has found a way to keep fighting him and protecting the humans. It just means he gets to have more fun fighting back.

One of my favourite things is that of all the humans only Chidi seems to consistently react like I think I would at the utter insanity that Jason, Tahani and Eleanor just kind of roll with. His freak out about the Jeremy Bearimy, his terrified bafflement at the Time Knife, his reactions were always on point
