It was established in another episode that Bonnie's actually a really good cook, good enough for Peter to skip out on dinner at home to eat her cooking.

I'm willing to believe that she purposely made that meal bad. Maybe she had a bad day or something? I don't know, there's no consistency in this show.

Joe was an absolute badass the writers did him dirty in the later series. He used to be a brave take no bullshit cop then they turned him into a a sad defeated loser. Joe was the best same with Brian and Stewie.
