Ragnvaldr the Outlander has by far the best New God form with it being a physical representation of the Torment he feels. Sharing the same Tormented Soul type as Ronn Chambara, both showcase their powerful feelings outward. While it may seem strange and cruel that the nature of their souls is to be tormented, they actually use their negative feelings of their struggles as motivation to better themselves and grow stronger. With the Tormented One, he was a poet and believed no great art could be created without pain and suffering and his ascension only increased this belief as he has flayed the skin from his body causing great anguish in the hopes of pushing himself even further to create the best art possible. With Ragnvaldr, his torment comes from the tragedies in his life and have made him the fearsome and resilient warrior he is today. From Ragnvaldr’s backstory we see he grew up in harsh winters where hunger was no stranger to the villagers and once he became a man, he sailed for months in hopes of finding new land where he either had to eat his fallen comrades in order to survive, or resist his urge to great anguish. And once he returned from the Dark Continent, his family and village were massacred by Le’garde causing him to seek revenge through the story of the game. In his S ending, Ragnvaldr becomes the God of Ultra Violence, making it his goal to destroy all dark beings in the dungeon and in the World. The torment Ragnvaldr has felt is represented in his bestial New God form showing how the will within him is like that of a raging bear and when coming face to face with it, it tells Ragnvaldr how it’s grown to love it’s torment and suffering, even though it curses its existence. It uses the torment to its advantage as an ancient secret that only it is aware of. The New God form itself also bears a resemblance to the bear costume in the ending of Midsommar, but no concrete connection has been made on this.

Here in Romania, in some villages, there's a yearly ritual when people put on bear costumes and roam around the village. This reminded me of that.

I love how the title of "God of ultra violence" is used. He's still mortal but his feats and achievements is one of a god. He basically break the limitations of what humans can achieve.

The godform of the tormented one is that of a man in a torture wheel, meanwhile Ragnvaldr's torture is to be devoured by his own rage (which is represented by the bear swallowing him and bitting his face)

I love the detail of Rag’s face being stunned in terror inside the bear’s maw. His past is defined by moments where he likely made that same horrified expression countless times.

since ragnvaldr never actually became a "god" as we know lore wise, his ending and title implies his power rivals that of even new gods at least, and his feared reputation as a smiter of evil put him on a god's level to many people.

The creativity and depth of these games is incredible. It’s on the level of FromSoft. Even more impressive that one guy did all this. It was one guy right? I’ve only heard 1 name and I forget it. Was it a Stardew Valley thing or did he have a few other people help him?

To me the 2 endings represent the culmination of his struggles.

By becoming a new god its basically hus struggle of man vs monster where he becomes the monster whereas his S ending is the man overcoming the monster ultimately coming out a man dedpite all the struggles he faced.
