Rules:
1. Fix a colour theme for the Business Card
2. Align the text perfectly
3. 300ppi / CMYK colour
4. Create 2 boxes (to get best output)
5. The margins
6. Create a watermark under Main Content

I think the hardest thing about business cards is, that you need to remember that it'snot a flyer and not an ad, but still needs to represent you just like them.
But it's probably one of the best areas to practice good design for starters, since it forces them to get a lot of detail into a minimalist design on a small space.
Being limited is often the best way to figure out solutions.

Business card with anything on the back (except Latin alphabet version for Greek or Cyrillic business cards) is more of an advertising leaflet. If you receive a business card the more personal and clean it is, the more valuable it appears. Logo or anything printed on the back makes it generic company card with impersonal phone number and office e-mail address. Something that can be put on the reception desk for anyone to take freely rather then valuable contact you would care for. Graphically it seem a great idea but if you want to be taken seriously leave the back blank.

I have a question about the bleeds. I have no printing experience and I have mostly worked for online designs. The bleed that you told about, you said that my artwork should go over the bleed. So am I supposed to make something like a 1 point line or do I just need to tell the printer about it?


Additionally, can you make a video on online portfolios and the best sites/methods to make those? Many people use Instagram to display their work too, which methods are the best and most accepted? and how to make it look professional?

I often find the contact details on business card’s to be too small to easily read, and if it’s not comfortable or a pleasant to use it’s either way thrown away or creates a poor second impression.
