I hate the fact that I'm an American and I have to agree with the fact that today's American society only want's epic explosions and things that don't make sense and don't want anything to do with a very good story line, and for that I really like this UK trailer.

They can't all be ignorant, stupid or evil. If they were no one would feel unhappy about those that are. The only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing I firmly believe and although in my backwoodsy way I may be rough around the edges (and not entirely admittedly civil about it) I think this is a quality shared worldwide. Defiance in the face of adversity. Dedication to principals of truth and justice.

@trocoman It's not a prequel it's a standalone film and it is it's own saga if it need be, with elements of Alien (1979)!

You didn't get what I meant. Prometheus is going to be it's own movie, meaning no one will have to watch Alien or even be familiar with the franchise to watch Prometheus and for it to make sense. There WILL be events in the movie that impact the later stories, but only the true fans will recognize them.

A "prequel" won't make sense on it's own without it's predecessor. That being said, that this isn't a prequel to Alien, that doesn't mean there won't be some direct connections made to Alien, I think there will, they will just make sense on their own in the context of this film.

not right bro. It was suppose to be prequel to Alien but Scott decided not to do that at the end. Scott: "Prometheus will explore its own mythology and ideas"

One thing I did want to mention: I like everything except the ending trailer music. Sounds way too heroic with the trumpets. The normal(American, rather) trailer's music works better in the end. More of a "HOLYSHIT WE'RE ALL SCREWED, " feel to it. Plus, the... uh... whatever that epic sound is. Yeah, that sounds a bit off on the music and it kinda disrupts the immersion. xD I'm being so nitpicky =P

I'm getting pretty damn tired of alien movies that paint a violent picture. If advanced other-worldly civilizations have come to planet Earth, the likelihood of them being violent is pretty slim it seems.

@Skoomax they follow research studies nd statistics which says many people turn out to theatres from trailers they waych irrespective of nd cult followers unfortunately are too risky to solely depend upon many comic remakes in 2010 nd 2011 are proof....so spoilers are necessary if it provides the reason to pull the crowd to theatres

@somejackball well said my friend both Alien 1979 and Aliens 1986 are masterpieces while the rest especially the AvP movies can be flushed down the proverbial toilet, and perhaps a real one for that matter!!
