just a tip: use an empty automatic pencil to bend them back

NO! DO NOT USE A KNIFE!!! Use a credit card as it is the correct thickness as the gap between the pins. Run the cards corner along the channel between the pins until it bens the pin upright, then run it along the adjacent channels, if you do this to all four side the result should be near perfectly straight pins without risking any damage.

Protip: use fingers and not a rubberized pair of tongs to handle CPUs

This will work, but I’ve found that a credit card/ gift card is the perfect thickness between pins, so sliding a credit card between slightly bent pins will fix them. I used this to repair super banged up cpus, just bend super bent pins into place, then use a card to fine tune it into its spot

I like how he casually shows his A68HM grenade to us and tell us it’s a computer

My go-to for fixing bent pins is a card. Usually a credit card or if that's a bit too thick then something like a discount card or hotel card.

Sad truth is, when it bent, it does not go that nicely.

First step, don't use barbecue tongs to pick up a cpu

"Take a knife and *carefully* push the already bent/broken pins
And it should work as normal"

Taking a cotton swab and cutting off one end of it works also as the open end of it made by cutting it off fits over the CPU pins perfectly. Just put it inside and gently bend it

Use a utility knife blade or razor blade. Put it across the whole row of pins under very bright light. You can see the reflection of which pins are slightly bent, and apply a gentle twist of the blade to straighten them. For pins very far bent, use a 0.3mm mechanical pencil, specifically graphgear or another one that you can remove the tip from the pencil. You want a metal tube with an interior diameter of 0.3mm. slide the pin into the tube and gently rotate it in the opposite direction the pin bent. Only 30 degrees at a time. I did this to a CPU with nearly 1/4 of the pins bent, some of them were fully bent over 90 degrees. Took 4 hours but it worked.
