I had a 5800x with a bent pin, and I tried SO hard to be careful to not break it. I used an ifixit spudger to super lightly push it back into place... Just for it to snap as soon as I gave it the slightest amount of pressure. I just turned around and laid in the fetal position for a while.

used the Razor blade method on some really badly bent pins, but it worked perfectly fine! Really recommend this one :)

I once did bend motherboard CPU pins.

Used a magnifying glass and needlenose tweesers to unbend, and it's still running 3 years later now.

I upgraded to a Ryzen 2700 but it was on offer up and the pins were bent and it had 2 missing pins I got it for $100 and a 250gig ssd which was huge for me at the time. I straightened the pins but it didn’t work I found out online that you can sacrifice pins from another cpu to use for the missing pins I did this for like an hour or two and my pc wouldn’t post just for me to find out my new cpu wasn’t compatible with my old motherboard. I did end up getting it to work with a new motherboard though and it opened my eyes to the world of fixing my own electronics at a very young age.

Dental floss is pretty hype to straighten the pins, less risk of snapping them off.

I was cleaning my PC for a sale, when I dropped my CPU and bent a single pin.

After I stopped crying, I used a magnifying glass and a sewing needle to put it back in place.

I used a small screwdriver to bend back the pins on a Ryzen 5 3600 I bought off someone on Facebook (I didn’t examine it carefully enough when we met to see that three pins were bent). Was surprised and relieved to see it actually worked.

I do it all the time *I own a repair shop* I use guitar picks. The thin cheap ones from Amazon that come in packs of 100. They also work great for opening phones and tablets.

Just remember those pins can be bent only 2-3 times before they brake

One time I was doing some maintenance work on our old family computer. I took the cpu out of the socket and the pins ended up getting bent.
I was able to straighten them out 90% of the way with my screwdriver, then I went to put it back in the socket and it went like 20% of the way in. I used a little bit of force to push it in and it finished straightening them for me. (It’s an old AMD A10-6700 cpu)

I have used both the screw driver and the blade methods.
I have also fixed a motherboard that had about a dozen bent pins, that sucked. But I was able to save it!

Precision xacto knife. Had an open box mobo come with a few bent pins and dried thermal paste in the socket. Fixed it right up, just be slow and patient.
