Показать описание
Son ar chistr ("The song of the cider" in the Breton language, "Ev Chistr ’ta Laou!" originally) is a traditional song of Brittany, whose words in Breton were written in 1929 by two Morbihan teenagers Jean Bernard and Jean-Marie Prima. The melody became known by the interpretation of the famous Breton singer Alan Stivell in the 1970s and in 1977 by the Dutch band, Bots under the name "Zeven dagen lang".

Holy heck - I’m part Breton and love this song and had no idea there was a Breton version.

At the time that song was first sung, britanny was one if not the poorest division of France. It was so culturally marked that parisian an other french newspaper wrote that britanny was a colony just like alsace. Even more than Guadeloupe.

You may not know, but the map you drew severely amputate my country, of one fifth in the south east, been taken apart from Brittany by french pro-nazi collaborators in 1941. Please be correct.

I’m Dutch, and knew the war song by bots. I knew the melody was a song from Breton. So today I decided to listen to that one. The lyrics are quite different. But I like this version now better. Don’t want to fight for 7 days anymore. So let’s drink cider.
(Unfortunately I became alcohol intolerant, so I’ll take apple juice instead)

the map you display on the cover of the video is not the actual Brittany, it's the administrative district, the french call "Bretagne". Our country is 1/5th larger.

Thank you for sharing a song from the Breton culture. However to put a truncated map of Brittany is clearly an insult to the Breton people, especially with the flag, one of which band is for Nantes.

vous n'avez pas honte de mettre une carte de la Bretagne tronquée de la Loire Atlantique, Je doute qu'Alan vous cautionne.
