My Top 10 Slap Bass Riffs - #5 'Power' by Marcus Miller

In this video I demonstrate how to play the slap bass groove that Marcus Miller plays during the Intro to his song 'Power'. You’ll find this track on his M2 album.

There are many great parts to this line, but for me the highlights are the opening chord and the fast, descending double-thumbed lick. I used a GB Guitars Rumour bass for this lesson.

Soooo if you wanna take a classic Marcus Miller bass riff you should have taken either Run For Cover (which is his most famous bass riff) or Detroit. Power is a good riff, but a classic naaaahhhh
